There's things that I can't say
And things that I can't see
So I took your advice
It's time to look outside
These days are killing me
This emptiness and greed
Followed my heart
(Chorus)
You know it's wrong, you can't deny
Everything is just an illusion
You believe is your life
It's a joke in your mind, you can't deny
Follow those who themselves are blind
Looking for something to buy
Cause’ everything is for sale
But all these hugs were wrong
These arms were dust and bones
Touching themselves in vain
But freedom sleeps in me
This is all I hope
Cause’ everything is dirty inside
(Chorus)
You know it's wrong, you can't deny
Everything is just an illusion
You believe is your life
It's a joke in your mind, you can't deny
Follow those who themselves are blind
Looking for something to buy
Cause’ everything is for sale
As the rain falls on our heads
They pray for the high tide
All boats shall rise
They say
(There's a seachange coming)
But we can't afford to wait
We're drowning out here!
The rights we have to speak
The fights we have to pick
To protect a future
For both strong and weak
I'll never bow my head
For those who divide us
For being who we are
(Chorus)
I know it’s wrong, but now it’s time
Stepping outside of this illusion
To create a new life
It's a hope I must find looking inside
Tell the people “open your eyes”
And search for something outside
Cause’ we are not for sale!
Fantastic tech/prog death, with lots of variation and strong melodic lines throughout the songs. The chorus of Epitaph stuck with me for weeks. Easily makes my top 5 of 2021. Lloyd James
This entire album screams with homage to traditional heavy metal. Obvious influence from the likes of Priest, Maiden, etc. shines through, with the group adapting to the modern in fantastic ways.
